Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone. . . .

A convict with a thirst for revenge

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager

A runaway with a privileged past

A spy known as the Wraith

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes

Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

“Kaz: I don’t want your prayers.
Inej: What do you want, then?
Kaz:*thinks* You
Kaz: To die buried under the weight of my own gold.”

I read this book after completing the Grisha Trilogy which was also written by Bardugo, so I thought this book would also be filled with magic and powers like those books. But No! This book is completely different. This book is about the “SIX DANGEROUS OUTCASTS” with whom you will fall in love with and the “ONE IMPOSSIBLE HEIST” that can be done only by them.

The way the author had handled the six characters is magnificent. Each and every chapter has a twist which make you to keep on reading. Every character’s uniqueness was carried throughout the story. I love all the characters but my favourite was Kaz Brekker, the Dirtyhands. Kaz is so damn clever and always well planned when he get into a work. He has two faces, the 17 year old boy who would do anything for his girl(Inej) and Kaz Brekker, the bastard of the Barrel, the leader of the most dangerous gang ‘The Dregs’. Well, I loved both the faces because he is Kaz how can someone not love him. Everyone’s backstory was so heart touching and was revealed in a perfect timing. This book was filled with emotion, action, love and above all Cleverness. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
