Matilda by Roald Dahl

Matilda is a tiny little girl who loves to read and has a brilliant brain. She started to read by herself at the age of three. But her parents who had no love for her just saw her as a scab. Her father Mr.Wormwood used to sell Second-hand cars by cheating others, her Mom Mrs.Wormwood knows nothing more than wearing make-up and playing bingo. Her brother Michael who was 5 years older than Matilda is an innocent and not-so-intelligent boy. At five and a half years she had joined in Primary school. The only sweet person in Matilda’s life was her teacher Miss.Honey who discovered her extraordinary talent and had wanted to do something for her. This beautiful story also has a Villan the Head mistress, Miss.Trunchbull who hates little children. Because of such intolerable persons in Matilda’s life she just can’t stop doing mischievous things. Every reader will love Matilda not only for her cuteness but also for her smartness.

I love little ones(who doesn’t?) and that’s the main reason I took this book and I loved it from the start till the end. Being a little girl Matilda endures a lot of sufferings from her parents. I hate them for not even considering her as a living being. Her father always scolds her and she return that by doing funny little mischievous things and those are my favorites. All the characters were very well portrayed. Apart from Matilda my two favorite characters are Mrs.Phelps, the library who helped her discover books and Miss.Honey who literally changed her miserable life.

Taking about this Trunchbull, She was such a terror, arrogant and a conceited Head Mistress. She throws children, as if they are a play balls. Her Punishments were beyond Cruel. I loathe her from the bottom of my heart. The story took its twist when Miss.Honey shared her past with Matilda. Matilda with her Miraculous power brought justice to Ms.Honey.

This is my first read from the author “Roald Dahl” and I absolutely love it. He is called as the World’s no:1 storyteller and I can see that in this story. I haven’t felt bored, not even once throughout the story. This book is not only for children because there is always a child inside every grown ups. This book is filled with funniness, Cuteness and a little miracle. So plz do read this book, I’m pretty sure you will enjoy it. It is definitely a refreshing read.
