Blurb:

Fourteen young mortals find themselves the unexpected heirs to the powers of the ancient Greek gods. Benjamin Darke, the new god of the dead, soon discovers that being a god isn’t as easy as one might expect.

My Review:

The book “Heir to the Underworld” by JB Dennis is a First book in The New God Of Olympus Series. It is a Greek Fantasy novel about 14 Greek Gods and Goddesses who tends to find 14 new Gods to replace themselves. I know it sounds surreal but trust me it is a great book. Even though it is my first Greek Fantasy novel I have ever read, it wasn’t hard for me to get involved in this book as the writing style was so simple yet fascinating.

As I said before the 14 new teenagers were chosen to perform their duty as the future Gods, not by merely picking their name in a paper from the bowl of papers but by watching their generations for hundreds of years by the real Gods and Goddesses. The story mainly revolves around the character Ben who is soon to be a god to the underworld. I love the way the author had handle each character with individuality. Ben is my favourite character than other characters because of his bravery and capacity of tolerance.

The story has so many conversations which make it so interesting. The description of the setting of the underworld seems so real and it is so hard to believe that it is a fiction. The last few chapters contain an unexpected fight which was so engaging. I felt that it would be great if the cover of this book is better. The ending of this book is left hanging so I am so much excited for the second book. This book is definitely a remarkable page-turner.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5
