Blurb:
On September 5, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: They’re going to die today.
Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but, for different reasons, they’re both looking to make a new friend on their End Day. The good news: There’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure—to live a lifetime in a single day.

Sometimes the truth is a secret you’re keeping from yourself because living a lie is easier.
My Review:
Every time I pick a book and started sinking into it, I would be so excited to know the climax, of course, everyone will be. This is the first time I had picked a book even though I know it had a bitter ending. “They both die at the End” by Adam Silvera is filled with love, friendship, loss and emotions. As the title says it all, the two main protagonists received a call from the Death-Cast, a company which tell people their death day and then the story moves on.
Mateo, the protagonist is a kind-hearted person. I love his character so much and I feel connected to him. He has some anxiety problems which remind me of one of my friends. Unlike the other protagonist Rufus, he was so afraid of dying and it was expressed so clearly. The author’s excellent writing style made me feel so sorry for him. I loved how much he cared for her friend.
Through him, the author had made me realize how our childhood experiences influence us in later life.
Rufus, the other protagonist is a brave, joyful and adventurous one. His two friends were so supportive and caring towards him. He was pushed into a situation where he has to be alone. Then he met Mateo. And a pure friendship arose between them.
There were a lot of apps mentioned in this book, fictional apps, of course, and one of those apps I liked is a “Last Friend”.
There were pov of many characters which do not play a main role in the story but that wasn’t a problem for me as I love different person’s point of view in a story. How the Death-Cast works was not explained and to me, it is a minor flaw. One of the side character’s story was just hanged in the middle and I’m not satisfied with it.
I love the author’s way of conveying a message that every action we do has a reaction( Just like Newton’s third law) in someone else’s life who were unknown to us. I love the soul message of this book that our future is uncertain and if we miss our chance to live every second to the fullest, we won’t get it back.
