Blood and Ash Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

My reading experience with this series was different from what I have read before. My love for this series increases gradually from one book to another. This is the first book series I have binge read and I loved reading it.

Not a fan of the first book (From Blood And Ash). What made me dislike FBAA was that there were too many unanswered questions till 3/4th of the book which was so confusing. And also it was slow-paced. But I do love the characters from the start. The twist at the end of book one (FBAA) made me pick the second book.

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire was so good and fast-paced. Unlike the first book, there was growth in the story with many actions scenes and many truths were revealed. I loved the trio Cas, Poppy and Kieran. The relationship development between Cas and Poppy was so great. I loved the pair so much and their banters are everything. Kieran being a sweet big wolf made my heart sank.

The third book (A Crown Of Gilded Bones) was way greater than the other two books. The first few chapters were heart pounding and I couldn’t stop reading. My favourite creatures in this book are wolves and I loved how they were so protective. In the end, there is this person’s death in this book that I felt was meaningless because that person played a very important role in moving the plot only to die in the end before we got to know him.

One thing that disturbed me in this series is there were mentions of modern usage things like walk-in closet and showers which made the book (ACOGB) feels like urban fantasy than pure fantasy. The climax was a cliffhanger just like the previous books but this one gave me goosebumps.

Now, when we see as a whole there was little growth in the plot throughout the series but there are so many actions and adventures and magics which kept me hooked into the second and third book. Reading this series was a great journey and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
