Synopsis:
The thrilling second installment in New York Times bestselling author Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me series.
It should have taken Juliette a single touch to kill Warner. But his mysterious immunity to her deadly power has left her shaken, wondering why her ultimate defense mechanism failed against the person she most needs protection from.
She and Adam were able to escape Warner’s clutches and join up with a group of rebels, many of whom have powers of their own. Juliette will finally be able to actively fight against The Reestablishment and try to fix her broken world. And perhaps these new allies can help her shed light on the secret behind Adam’s—and Warner’s—immunity to her killer skin.
Juliette’s world is packed with high-stakes action and tantalizing romance, perfect for fans of the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard and the Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken.
Ransom Riggs, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, raved: “A thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love, the Shatter Me series is a must-read for fans of dystopian young-adult literature—or any literature!”

My Review:
My perspective towards this series has changed after reading this book. Character growth is essential in character-driven stories. I don’t see any growth in the main character, Juliette. The whole story is from her perspective, making it even more frustrating.
Juliette, along with everyone in the underground, was preparing for the “war,” which is the main plot in this book. That “war” ended with a few explosions and several soldiers dying. I want more than that when that is the main plot.
Juliette had gone through a lot all her 17 years of life. So I understand her struggles and tears. The first book was full of that. Some development in her character, at least after half of the book, could have been better. She was the same as in the first book; nervous, confused, and afraid.
Precisely in the last page of the book, she was like, “I am done being nice. I am done being nervous. I am not afraid of anything anymore”. I was like, Girl? That’s not how people change. Everything was so sudden when it came to our Juliette. One moment she was all over Adam, and the next moment she was all over Warner.
She is the most confused character I have ever come across. This girl doesn’t know the difference between love and attraction. She says she was “in love” with Adam. When a problem arose in their relationship, she didn’t even try to solve it. Instead, she just broke up with him.
Three days after her break up, she falls for Warner. So, Juliette, three days is enough to get over the love of your life?? To get over the first person who ever cared about you?? And now, suddenly, she can’t get her mind off of Warner. Whatever this “thing” she felt for Adam, and she’s feeling for Warner, is something unknown to me, but definitely, this is not love. She even called herself “crazed” and “insane” in some chapters, and I agree entirely with that.
Kenji and James are the only beautiful souls in the book who kept ME sane(Sane Me). Kenji was a sweetheart, always trying to insert some sense into Juliette’s broken mind. I think James, Adam’s brother appeared only twice in the book. He was such a cute baby boy. I loved his conversations with Adam in Fracture Me.
Fracture Me is a Novella and is to be read after Unravel Me. This novella is from Adam’s pov, and I don’t get anything new other than what was already in Unravel Me. It felt like the narration was from Adam’s pov and made no difference. Without James’s presence, this novella would be a waste of time. I think it’s still a waste of time.
Anyway, my prediction about Adam and Warner being blood-related was correct. That’s the one thing I am happy about in this book. I am not looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
